As prominent leaders who have served this great nation, I write to you today with a shared hope and vision for the future of America—a future where the United States continues to lead the world in STEM innovation. To achieve this, we must prioritize and promote diversity within the STEM fields.

Diversity in STEM is not just a buzzword; it is a critical component for the continued growth and leadership of the United States in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The STEM workforce of the future must reflect the rich tapestry of our nation, encompassing individuals from all backgrounds, genders, and experiences. This diversity brings unique perspectives and ideas that are crucial for innovation and problem-solving.

One of the key arguments for promoting diversity in STEM is that it does not hinder those already in the field. Instead, it complements and enriches the work being done.
